The Launch of ToqLabs
Open research, shared knowledge, and credit for the people doing the work — why we're starting ToqLabs.
1. Why we're launching
AI is moving quickly, but a lot of what gets learned along the way never gets shared. Results come out without the details behind them, or they don't come out at all, and the knowledge stays with whoever produced it. ToqLabs is here to do the opposite: open research, shared openly, so the field can move faster.
2. Open by default
Closed research has its place, but nobody is an island. What a lot of people know together is worth far more than what any one team can hold on its own. We'd rather share what we find and let other people build on it.
3. Where we're headed
The aim is to push on what AI can actually do, and to understand these systems well enough to take them further. Over time we'd like that work to count toward real progress on AGI. It's a long road, and we're at the start of it.
4. A home for researchers
Good work often goes unseen for reasons that have nothing to do with how good it is. Here, contributions are public and credited by name. If you want to help push this forward, wherever you are, you're welcome to join us.
